Through her academic and professional careers, Anna has gained experience analyzing and interpreting historic documents, transcribing 17th and 18th Century letters, and digitizing records.

She holds a B.A. in Anthropology with minors in Archaeology and Italian from Montclair State University and an M.A. in History with a Certificate in Public History from Salem State University. The focus of her academic studies centered around the history of Colonial New England, material culture of early America, and museum studies. Before working at American Ancestors, Anna worked in the public history field as a historic interpreter at the House of the Seven Gables, leading guests through guided tours of a colonial era mansion by narrating the lives of its previous owners. She also assisted in the site's curatorial department, aiding in the care and maintenance of the objects in the site's collection as well as contributing to the House of the Seven Gables “Collections Corner” blog series, which highlighted the use and history of the objects within the museum's collection. She brings with her a love and appreciation for local histories, interest and knowledge of Colonial America, and nearly ten years of experience in conducting historical and ethnographical research.
