Introduction

New Brunswick was formed as a separate colony from Nova Scotia in 1784 and created as a province in Atlantic Canada in 1867. NEHGS is fortunate to have a strong collection of New Brunswick vital records, probate records, and census returns. Published transcriptions of marriages and censuses, as well as many genealogies of New Brunswick families can be found by searching our library catalog. This subject guide will give you a comprehensive overview of the materials we have at NEHGS as well as online resources to help you with your research in New Brunswick.
