Thank you for registering for our Maine Historical Society Day Trip!
Join American Ancestors experts at Maine Historical Society for a day of genealogical research! While there, you will have access to an invaluable collection of books and rare books, archival collections, periodicals, maps, newspaper titles, and more. Normally closed on Tuesdays, our group will have exclusive access to the Maine Historical Society’s research library for the entire day. Our experts will help you plan your research with a pre-trip consultation and will be there with you during the trip to provide additional support. You will also be able to enjoy the company and camaraderie of fellow researchers as you uncover your Maine roots!
This program includes:
• 30-minute virtual consultation via Zoom, scheduled prior to the day trip
• Tour and orientation by Maine Historical Society staff
• Lunch
• Research assistance by American Ancestors experts while at the repository
Please note: registration does not include transportation to or from the repository.
About Maine Historical Society
Collections include archival, library, and special collections, as well as published resources for Maine, Early New England, and Canadian Maritime history and genealogy.
Collection strengths include maps and treaties which illustrate the shared Wabanaki and Colonial experience; European exploration, settlement, and land-use; personal and organizational records reflecting economic, religious, social, and political history; family history collections; Maine’s participation in national and international events; natural resources, maritime history, and social reform movements; and exceptional photography, cartographic, newspaper, architecture, and engineering records. The Library also provides research access to MHS's museum and three-dimensional object collections.

Please fill out your Participant Form as soon as possible, and no later than May 27. This will allow our genealogists to help you make the most of your pre-trip consultation.
