At this long-awaited in-person gathering, we will honor Mary Beth Norton, one of the most distinguished historians in America, with the American Ancestors Lifetime Achievement Award in History. Professor Norton will share insights on the intersections and synergies between the study of history and genealogy and discuss her latest work, 1774: The Long Year of Revolution—a Wall Street Journal Best Book of the Year. Brenton Simons will present her with a detailed history of her family—researched and written by a staff genealogist and hand-bound in marbled paper and leather as a memento of the occasion—and Ryan Woods will confer the coveted American Ancestors Lifetime Achievement Award in History upon her.

The Stones Speak: A Walking Tour of Granary and Kings Chapel Burying Grounds
Led by David Allen Lambert, Chief Genealogist at American Ancestors
Cost: $25
Tip toe through the tombstones of Boston’s oldest burying grounds—Kings Chapel Burying Ground (1630) and Granary Burying Ground (1660)—with genealogist, historian, and author David Allen Lambert. David will lead us to the final resting place of Boston’s early leaders and notables, including John Winthrop, John Cotton, and Mary Chilton; Revolutionary War-era patriots Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Robert Treat Paine; and even Charles Ewer, the first president of New England Historic Genealogical Society. Hear of these Bostonians’ contributions to American history, their continued influence on today’s society, and about the stones and carved symbols that adorn their eternal homes.
