Madeline DeDe-Panken

Historian in Residence

Madeline DeDe-Panken, Ph.D., is a historian with broad interests in culture, gender, and public knowledge. Mining the JHC archives, she works to highlight and contextualize stories in the JHC collections through articles, public programs, education initiatives, and resource guides. Madeline has held fellowships at institutions including the Schlesinger Library, Massachusetts Historical Society, and Center for Women’s History at New-York Historical. She holds a BA and MA in history from Clark University and completed her PhD at The Graduate Center, CUNY in 2026.
