The Campaign for NEHGS
Family History Fund
The Family History Fund is a special fund established to support the dissemination of histories of families in America, primarily, but not exclusively, through the publication of high quality compiled genealogies, most often under the Newbury Street Press imprint. The Fund also supports the Society’s educational programs; tutorials and other expert advice provided by the Society’s staff genealogists; articles on the Society’s website, AmericanAncestors.org; and the body of work contained in the Society’s periodical publications, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register and American Ancestors magazine.
Newbury Street Press has been America’s premier publisher of private family histories since 1996; its books are among the most important projects undertaken by the New England Historic Genealogical Society. Building on the Society’s nearly 170-year tradition of publishing, including its scholarly journal, the Register, NSP supports the Society’s purpose to educate, inspire, and connect people to advance the study of family history. Many of its publications have won prestigious book awards, including the Donald Lines Jacobus Award from the American Society of Genealogists.
“I have enormous respect for the standards of scholarship exemplified by the New England Historic Genealogical Society.” —Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, Pulitzer-prize winning historian, from The Art of Family
