Expert Review and Research Package

Assessment, planning and research

Can't decide between scheduling a consultation or a Research Services case?

Get the best of both with the Expert Review and Research Package. First, a staff genealogist will provide a one-on-one assessment of your previous research and offer recommendations for future research. Next, a member of the Research Services team will execute the research plan, culminating in a research report with scholarly citations and copies of relevant documentation.

This service is only offered to members of NEHGS; starting price $1,500

How It Works

Once you have set up the Expert Review and Research Package you will send in the information for the brick wall or research question. Your project will then be assigned to one of our staff genealogists to review your past research and create a research plan. They will then schedule a 30 minute consultation to discuss the plan, answer any questions, and notify you of any additional records or microfilms necessary to implement the research plan.

Next the project will be assigned to one of the researchers on the Research Services staff who will take the research plan you and the staff genealogists discussed and implement the research.

The final product will be a report detailing the research process, summary of finding and conclusion with suggestions for further research. You will also receive a source list outlining the sources searched during the research time. And lastly, a collection of documents showing interesting facts, proof, or records.
