NEHGS is pleased to partner with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) on its latest exhibition, “Kings, Queens, and Courtiers: Royalty on Paper.”

This exciting new exhibition, which runs from October 21, 2012 through June 16, 2013 at the MFA, features examples of the various ways in which European rulers and their aristocratic followers have been represented on paper from the sixteenth century to 1900. To purchase tickets, please visit http://www.mfa.org/tickets-info.

In conjunction with “Kings, Queens, and Courtiers”, NEHGS created a sweeping chart highlighting the family lineages, descendants, and connections of some of Europe’s most enduring and well-known royal figures. Starting with Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor from 1493–1519, this chart includes more than 100 kings, queens, and courtiers from Spain, England, France and Germany.

Some of the figures in the exhibit, and on the chart, include:

    • King Henry VIII
    • Queen Elizabeth I
    • Queen Victoria
    • Marie Antoinette
    • King George IV
