Search all issues from 1847 to 2011 and it is now possible to search all the issues at once. Note, however, that this online index is based on the printed indexes that were published each year. As a result,  there may be inconsistencies over time. And note that surnames were most often indexed by their most common spelling. For example, the surname “Smyth”  may be found indexed under “Smith.”

The NEHGS Photocopy Service will provide  photocopies of Register articles for a fee; order here. Some back issues of the Register are still available;  ask Membership Services.

Go Paperless

The Register is available as a searchable PDF for all members. You can now choose to not have the printed version mailed to you, helping us reduce costs and better utilize important resources. The online PDF version of the Register will be available to all members whether it’s mailed to you or not — usually two or three weeks before the printed version is available.
