  • Pilgrim Village Families Sketch: William Tench

    Robert Charles Anderson

Birth: William Tench was most likely born in England.

Death: The date and place of his death is unknown.

    Ship: Fortune, 1621

Life in England: Nothing is known of his life in England.

Life in New England: William Tench arrived in Plymouth Colony in the fall of 1621. In the land division of 1623 he received one acre, indicating he had no family with him. His name does not appear in the division of cattle held in Plymouth Colony in May 1627, so he had either died or left the colony by that time.

Family: William Tench was joined with John Cannon in the land division, so it is possible he had some connection with the Cannon family.
