  • Pilgrim Village Families Sketch: George Foster

    Robert Charles Anderson

Birth: George Foster was most likely born after 1612.

Death: There is no information on his place or date of death.

    Ship: Unknown

Life in England: Nothing is known of his life in England.

Life in New England: The only record of George Foster’s presence in Plymouth Colony is a provision in Samuel Fuller’s will, made in July 30, 1633. Near death at that time, Samuel Fuller made arrangements for several children under his care. “And for George Foster being placed with me upon the same termes [to be educated] by his parents still living at Sagos [Saugus] my will is that he be restored to his Mother likewise.” No Foster family has been identified there and that fact, coupled with the phrase “returned to his Mother,” may indicate that his parents were a mother and stepfather.

Family: There is no evidence that George Foster married or had children.
