The New England Historic Genealogical Society is participating in the Free Fun Fridays program sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation. On Friday, July 11, 2014, NEHGS will open our doors at no cost to visitors all day long. Free Fun Fridays is a program that includes 66 museums and cultural venues across Massachusetts. Each Friday this summer, there will be six venues open for free. The program begins Friday, June 27th and runs through Friday, August 29th. Our Family Zone offers activities designed for families to enjoy together. Who makes up your family, and what were their journeys through history?
Explore all the incredible resources available to you in our research library. We encourage you to visit the 4th floor technology center, the 5th floor local history section, and the 7th floor reading room. Staff will be available on all floors to assist you and answer your questions.
Have a question about a tricky problem in your own family history? Wondering what the best first steps are when beginning genealogy research? A limited number of one-on-one consultations will be available with our genealogy experts on a first-come, first-served basis. Consultations will last 20 minutes. One consultation per person.
Learn how to jumpstart your family history research and use the NEHGS website, AmericanAncestors.org, during these 20-minute introductory talks by our expert staff. Presentations are scheduled to start every half hour between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.
