The immigrant Valentine Presler/Preslar and his son Andreas are treated in Henry Z Jones, Jr., The Palatine Families of New York, vol. 1 (1985), pp. 102-4, under “Valentin Bresseler.” Mr. Jones begins this coverage with “Valentine Presler aged 40, with his wife, sons aged 6, 4, and 1-1/2, daughters 10 and 8, Roman Catholic, husbandman and vinedresser, were in the 1st arrivals in England in 1709 (London lists).” Possible German origins for this family and an Andreas Pressler (ca. 1635-1707) of Baldweinitz, Bavaria are discussed in Mr. Jones’s More Palatine Families (1991), pp. 322-23.
