Both Daniel T. V. Huntoon in Philip Huntoon and His Descendants and the more recent Allan Abrahamse The Huntoon Family in the Nineteenth Century give the date and place of death of Bemsley Huntoon as 22 August 1864 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Bemsley was born in Unity, New Hampshire, on 27 December 1787.  He married Florinda Nye on 5 May 1812 in Berlin, Vermont. Florinda and Bemsley lived in Berlin; Montpelier; Ogdensburgh, New York; New York City; Albany; Chicago; St. Charles, Aurora, Peru, and Peoria, Illinois, among other places.  They moved to Chicago in 1835 where Bemsley established a saw mill on the Chicago River.  Their son Josiah P. Huntoon was a coffee and spice merchant in Paterson, New Jersey.  Josiah ran a station on the Underground Railroad.  I found Cemetery Records from FirstRecord Book of Graceland Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois, 1860–1866,which gives Bemsley's date of death as 21 March 1864.  The record lists his residence as Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin—65 miles northeast of Green Bay on the Door County Peninsula which separates Green Bay from Lake Michigan.  A correction is needed in the historical record.  Those interested should view the Family Search sitehttps://familysearch.org/search/catalog/262307?availability=Family%20History%20Library.
