I have ancestors (father and son) who were taken by the Brits and their Indian allied in eastern NY state (Delaware co) in 1776. Their post war reports claimed that one was taken to the Detroit area and one to Montreal for the duration of the war. I have only their word for this printed in post war county history. Where are prisoner records of this kind likely to be found?I need to verify their capture and retention. Amjohnson@juno.com.
