I am searching for the English or Barbados ancestors of William Read (died 1697) of Stratford and Fairfield, CT and son John Read (1680-1749), the Boston lawyer, married to Ruth Talcott.

The best treatment of the Read/Reed families of Fairfield that I know of is in Jacobus' "History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield," which is on this site. It does not indicate William's origin.
