Been looking for the parents of this couple for 2 years. They married in Cumberland, RI in 1796. Births of 4 of their 5 children recorded in Attleboro. 1800-1830 censuses has them living in Norton. Josiah died in 1832; Rebecca married Nathaniel Fisher in 1839 and died in 1856. He served in the War of 1812, where he gave his age as 48 in 1813, but his obit gives his age as 64 in 1832. His gravestone record in the Norton tan book gives his age as 64 in 1833, but that must be a transcription error. I couldn't find his gravestone. His war record could also have mistranscribed his age as 48 instead of 45, which is what it should have been in 1813, if he was born in 1768. Attempts to match him with the other Daggett families in Attleborough listed in the 1790 and 1800 censuses have been unsuccessful. He did not leave a will and didn't own property. I even looked through the records of the Court of General Sessions to see if there were any illegitimate Daggetts whose mother might have been accused of fornication or sued the purported father for support. I didn't find him mentioned in the Court of Common Pleas records either. If anyone has any information or any idea where I can look next, I would appreciate it.
