I am trying to track down any surviving families from the wreck of the Catherine in 1737 off Sable Island June 1737 as reported in Boston papers. A John Tuffts/Tufts may have survived and may have come to Londonderry NH. There are 2 stories handed down through families that state he was but Tufts researchers have always said he is from Medford Tufts clan. Archibald and Charles McNeil may have perished and other family names from ireland and Londonderry as well. Please respond if anyone has seen other accounts of this tragedy or ships manifests which could be reported in NEHGS journal or Boston selectmans minutes. Thanks in advance
