Seeking information on a John Gould who lived in Lebanon, Connecticut, ca. 1756 to 1777. He was married in Lebanon, CT. in 1756 to Eunice Crandall, and they raised a family in that area (including Columbia, CT). John Gould apparently died in the Battle of Princeton in January, 1777. I am looking for information on his birth date, birth location, and the names of his parents and grandparents. Any leads would be appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. - Also researching the family tree of Francis Goole (particularly the parents of Francis). Francis died in Massachusetts in 1676; he was born about 1620 in England, but we have no sourced information on his parents and where he was born in England. His wife was Rose. Any leads on this possible ancestor also appreciated.

On Google Books there is a "Family of Zaccheus Gould of Topsfield." It was published in the 1870s and is out of copyright. It's not particularly well sourced, but it may give you some clues on this family.

Have you considered the possibility that he might be from Rhode Island? Lebanon is close to the Rhode Island line, and there are a lot of Goulds in Washington County, Rhode Island, particularly in South Kingstown, where I live. There are quite a number of Crandalls as well.
