My Ancestor was held at the hospital at Ellis Island for 3 weeks due to an unknown fever. Are there any records available for those passengers held at Ellis Island for medical reasons?

According to Lori Conway's "Forgotten Ellis Island; the Extraordinary Story of America's Immigrant Hospital," there is no central repository. Records are found in the Ellis Island library, various federal archives, Harvard (Widener Library), NYC Public Library and the Public Health Archives.
