(A-372) – FLOOD/SMITH/SEDERQUIST/STUBBS - Richard FLOOD-SMITH and some of his fam. are bur. in the Old Cemetery, Provincetown, Mass.  His tombstone and Provincetown records say he d. 17 May 1857, aged 63 yrs., 9 mos. 15 d which would make his date of birth 2 Sept. 1793.  He m. in Provincetown 29 Dec. 1818 Sally (Sarah) STUBBS (TUBBS in m. record).  The marriage record states he was b. in Boston, Mass but I could not find him recorded.  She d. 16 Nov. 1872, recorded on 20 Jan. 1873 as b. Wellfleet, Mass., 24 May 1788. Her tombstone gives her age as 77yrs., town records say 84 yrs., 8 mos. if her tombstone record is wrong his possibly is also.  Their dau. (my ancestor) Nancy FLOOD SMITH was b. Provincetown 29 Oct. 1819; d. 1903; m. there 10 Sept 1836 Robert Eldridge SMITH, b. Provincetown 22 Jan. 1815; d. 1892.  Both are bur. (A-390) HOWARD/HARWOOD/PRESCOTT - Vital Records of Westford. Mass., pp. 178 & 218. indicate m. int. 7 Mar. 1730/31, of Jonas4 PRESCOTT (Jonas3-2, Jonn1) & Elizabeth HARWOOD, not HOWARD as stated in The Prescott Memorial (1870, repr. 1983), pp. 53. 72. Vital Records of Chelmsford, Mass., p. 77, records b. of “Elesabeth HARWOD, dau. of Nathaniell and Mary, Jan. 28, 1701,”  The same volume (p.84) records b. of Elizabeth HOWARD on 21 April 1717. Dau. of Benjamin & Mary  It seems unlikely tlrat Jonas4 PRESCOTT, aged 28 in 1730/31, would have a fourteen year old wife.  Elizabeth HARWOOD was about thirty at this time.  Nathaniell HARWOOD was bur. Chelmsford 30 Aug. 1751, aged 82 years. as was his wid. Mary. 10 Oct. 1758, aged 85 years (Vital Records of Chelmsford, p. 400).  See also W. H. Harwood, A Genealogical History of the Concord Harwoods (1912), pp. 9-10. where Nathaniel HARWOOD’s w. is identified as Mary BARRON (1673-1758), dau. of Moses & Mary (LEARNED) BARRON.
