(John2-1) & Sarah (BAXTER) CLEVERLY of Braintree. In the Norfolk Co., Mass.,
estate file (#4062) of her unm. bro. John CLEVERLY, cordwainer, is a document
dated in Sept. 1793 by which the heirs requested Elijah VEAZIE Jur. “may
administer on our Late Brothers John Cleverly Estate.” It was signed by four
CLEVERLY men, John SANDERS, and John PRAY of Quincy, cordwainer, who was b. 4,
bp 30 March 1755 in Braintrce, now Quincy. He and his w. Mary later joined her
siblings in selling Cleverly land (Norfolk Co. Deeds, 2:38-39, 5:231). Much info
on the Cleverly fam. is found in Waldo C. Sprague, Genealogies of the Families
of Braintree, Mass., 1640-1850 (microfilin, NEHGS, 1984).
