(A126) PURCHASE/NILES - Mary PURCHASE was the dau. of John not Oliver. See
the Waldo C. Sprague Manuscript Collection (at NEHGS. also widely available on
microfilm) for Braintree families. Mary later m. Francis NASH, and their ch. by
their first marriages also married. The Niles Genealogy (1868) hiss scant
information, I have photocopied all extant probate records. Eunice NILES left
Braintree for Jay Maine. in 1799. Her eight sons were all blacksmiths.

Boston Transcript genealogical columns, published 1896-1941 (originals and
microfiche available at NEHGS). I desc. from Quniton PATCH of Stamford, Conn.,
and Nicholas PATCH of Beverly, Mass., among other PATCHes. Harriet PATCH m.
Edward PATCH (no relation). Edward was in the Civil War and I have his journal.
A family story was that the PATCHes were so contrary that if they fell in the
river they would float upstream. Isaac PATCH, b. in Wenham, Mass., 1682; d.
Groton, Mass., 7 Dec. 1762; m. in Beverly, Mass., 10 March 1708/9 Edith EDWARDS.
who res. in Newton, Medford, and Concord, Mass., and Groton. Conn., and d. bef.

Hamilton Perkins Greenough (1969) [lists a] Daniel Greenough, b. 11 July 1738.
son of John3 GREENOUGH & w. Sarah (WHITE) of Weymouth. He may have emigrated
to Nova Scotia. John3 Greenough, son of John2 , was b. 17 July 1699 and m. in
Weymouth 25 July 1723 Sarah (WHITE) of that town. He was a shipwright in Boston
and d. 1776. John2 Greenough, son of Capt. William atmd Ruth (SWIFT). was b. in
Boston 17 Feb. 1672/3: d. 1732: m. 18 Oct. 1693 Elizabeth, dau. of Thomas GROSSE
& Elizabeth (PHILLIPS). Capt. William. son of Luke Greenhalghe & Mary
Booth of Rochdale, Lancashire, was b. 1641, came to Boston 1650 on his uncle’s
ship. He d, 6 Aug. 1693, and is bur. in Copps Hill, North End. Boston.
