Sarah Liebenrood

Sarah first joined NEHGS in 2010, when she interned for our publications and technical services teams and began researching her own genealogy. Sarah was a Member Services Representative in 2012 and 2013. Before returning to NEHGS Sarah served on the development team at Longyear Museum in Chestnut Hill, Mass., managing operations, gift processing, donor and member communications and financial reporting. Sarah oversees the Member Services team at NEHGS.

Jenna LaRiviere
Member Services Representative
Jenna LaRiviere

Jenna joined NEHGS in 2016 after earning her MA in Museum Studies from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. She earned her BA in Archaeology from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, and spent time in the UK and Greece to complete her degree. She has experience working in cultural institutions both in the United States and the United Kingdom, and has a great interest in museums and history.

Kathleen Mackenzie
Member Services Representative
Kathleen Mackenzie

Kathleen graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BA in History, and also studied abroad at the University of East Anglia in England. Kathleen has a strong interest in historical and non-profit organizations. She gained experience in the nonprofit field while interning at Historic Northampton and the Skinner Museum of Mount Holyoke College, as well as working as a sales representative at Boston Ballet. Having recently moved to Boston, Kathleen enjoys attending theater performances in the city and exploring Boston’s many historic sites and museums.

Savannah Renaud
Member Services Representative
Savannah Renaud

Savannah has a BFA in Photography from Lesley University College of Art and Design, and also studied abroad in Florence at Lorenzo de Medici Institute. She has previous non-profit experience at the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston in both membership and visitor services. While photography remains her first love, she hopes to expand her portfolio of work by researching her family and developing new found insight here at the society. Her other interests include practicing yoga as well as trying new restaurants.

James Heffernan
Visitor Services Representative
James Heffernan

James earned his BA in history at Boston College. Before joining the NEHGS team, he worked in the conservation department of the John J. Burns Library at Boston College and the research library at Plimoth Plantation. Propelled by his interests in genealogy and history, James spent a semester abroad at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. In addition to Slavic history, he is very interested in the history of Colonial America and 19th century Massachusetts.

Valerie Beaudrault
Visitor Services Representative
Valerie Beaudrault

Originally from New Hampshire, Valerie E. Beaudrault joined the visitor services staff in 2002. In addition to visitor services, she assists in editing NEHGS eNews and in historical and genealogical research related to objects in the Society's object collection. She has a BA from the University of Massachusetts/Boston and an EdM from Boston University. Valerie’s genealogical research pursuits have focused on her family in New England, upstate New York and Quebec. Areas of specialty: New Hampshire, Upstate New York, Quebec with a focus on the Eastern Townships, newspaper research, some southern African American research (Liberty County, Georgia.)
