Visit the treasures of Dublin’s many genealogical repositories, including the National Archives of Ireland, National Library of Ireland, Registry of Deeds, Valuation Office, Dublin City Archives, and more. Throughout the week, participants discover each repository’s unique holdings through guided research, one-on-one consultations, and lectures.

NEHGS Experts

 

 

Marie Daly

Marie Daly, Senior Genealogist at NEHGS, is the past president and co-founder of TIARA (The Irish Ancestral Research Association) and has been researching, lecturing, and writing about Irish genealogy for over 35 years. Additional areas of expertise include Prince Edward Island genealogy, 19th and 20th century immigrant research, and researching early Watertown, Mass.families in land records. She is particularly interested in old Irish graveyards and has transcribed the tombstone inscriptions in several Irish cemeteries in the Boston area.


Judith Lucey

Judy Lucey joined the staff in 2003 and currently serves as Archivist. She received a B.S. in Education from Northeastern University and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. Her genealogical interests include Irish genealogy, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland,19th- and 20th-century genealogy, beginning genealogy, Italian research, and the history of Cambridge and Somerville, Massachusetts.


Jean Maguire

Jean Maguire is the Library Director at NEHGS, responsible for overseeing the Society's library and special collections, including patron services; collection development, access, and preservation;and the Society's volunteer program. Jean joined the NEHGS staff in 1999 after receiving her Master's in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. Jean's areas of experience include Irish research and records, including several counties within Ireland, Italian genealogy, and library research.

Single Registration: $2,700 (Includes 7 nights' hotel accommodations in a single room, seven breakfasts, two dinners, lectures, consultations, orientations, and transportation between hotel and repositories) 

 

Double Registration: $2,300 per person (Includes 7 nights' hotel accommodations in a shared room, seven breakfasts, two dinners, lectures, consultations, orientations, and transportation between hotel and repositories) 

 

Double Registration with Guest: $2,950 total for two people, including one researcher and one non-researching guest (Includes 7 nights' hotel accommodations in a shared room, seven breakfasts, two dinners, lectures, consultations, orientations, and transportation between hotel and repositories. Lectures, consultations, orientations, transportation for researcher only.) 

 

Registration does not include:

Airfare
Ground transportation other than that listed above
Meals other than those listed above
Travel insurance
Any other fees or costs associated with the trip 

 

Cancellation Policy

Written cancellations received before August 15, 2014, will be subject to a $300 per person cancellation fee. No refund is possible after this date. Fees are based on group participation.There is no refund for services or portions of the tour not taken, or for participants who do not complete the tour.
