Question: During World War II an uncle of mine served with the U.S. Coast Guard.  Can you tell me how I can find where his vessel was stationed during the war?

Answer:  To obtain the unit histories for the United States Coast Guard you can visit the U.S. Coast Guard Historian’s Office online at: http://www.uscg.mil/history/   Or you can write a letter with your request to that office at:

U.S. Coast Guard Historian’s Office, Commandant (CG-09224), U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, 2100 Second Street SW, Washington, D.C. 20593.
