Question:  I am unclear as to what an abbreviation in early church records from Canton, Massachusetts stands for.  In the context of burials occasionally I see "ChhM" listed in parenthesis after the date or age.

Answer:  After reviewing the microfilm for the records you mentioned I noticed that "ChhM" stands for Church Membership.  This indicates when an individual was buried that they were a member of the church, by baptism or signing the Church Covenant.
