Your comment on the wonderful name "Reuben" neglected to note that its Hebrew meaning is "Behold, a son!" In the context of the arrival of Jacob's and Leah's firstborn, that comes very close to "It's a boy!" Paints a sweet, human picture. Might have been even sweeter, if the parents had been in love...
