NEHGS is actively seeking a living agnate patrilineal descendant of Isaac Stedman (1605-1678) to voluntarily take a complimentary Y-Chromosome DNA test for comparison purposes with what may be another branch of the same family. Isaac Stedman was a native of Biddenden, Kent, England, who married Elizabeth Winchester and came to Massachusetts in 1635 on the Abigail and settled in Boston. Isaac and Elizabeth had three sons – Nathaniel, Isaac, and Thomas who left numerous male descendants into the 1800s.
