Special Collections Genealogy and Local History Database
The Special Collections database comprises a number of different indexes. Of particular interest to family history researchers are an index to newspaper birth announcements, a local news index, and a veterans index. Select a database from the list and either browse through the entries in the alphabetical list or begin a search. Click the link in the Details column to view the detailed record. The data fields in the birth announcements include surname, parents' given name(s), child's name, birth date, community, newspaper title, and date. For the local history news index the data fields are article, date, and newspaper title. The detailed record includes a full transcription of the article. Most of the articles are from 1997 to present. The data fields in the veteran's index are last name, first name, rank, headline, newspaper title, date, and page number.

Williamson County Obituaries Database
This alphabetical database indexes more than 50,000 Williamson County obituaries from 1920 through the present. Browse or search the database by surname or perform an advanced search. The data fields in the index include last name, first name, year/month/day, newspaper title, location of the resource, obituary, full name, and newspaper date. Click the View Obituary link to access a transcription of the obituary, if available.
