Approximately 54,000 cubic feet of Inactive Claims Folders from the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) were recently transferred from the National Archives Great Lakes Region to the National Archives at Atlanta, Georgia. These records contain claims files that have been inactive for at least seven years. Active claims files are still with the RRB. The RRB deals only with individuals who worked on the railroads after 1936. For more information about these valuable records, visit the
National Archives website.
