Question: I have heard recently that one can search the images of the Boston Globe online at NEHGS. Can you confirm this and tell me year ranges available are?
Answer: NEHGS has recently started to offer the The Boston Globe database for in house use only currently. This database from ProQuest covers the Boston Globe from 1872-1979. This database is keyword searchable, and is a very quick way to search for obscure Boston news stories. I have used this database for small and large articles for both genealogy and local history to much success. This database has proven itself in my own research when I test it against even obscure death notices.
